SAFETY
Trust starts with good judgment.
Last updated 13 September 2026
Match My Crew helps you find and evaluate people — the judgment calls about who to work with and how are still yours. Here's what's actually true about safety on the platform today.
We don't verify identity yet
Match My Crew does not currently perform identity verification on any account, client or provider. Names, credentials, portfolio work, and every other detail on a profile are self-reported by the account holder and have not been independently confirmed by us. Don't treat any profile as identity-checked or vetted — treat it the way you'd treat any public listing, and do your own due diligence before agreeing to work with someone.
We're working on a real identity-verification process for providers. Until it ships, no badge, label, or profile status on Match My Crew should be read as a confirmed identity check.
Before you agree to work together
- Keep early conversations on-platform through the inquiry system, where there's a record you can refer back to.
- Verify project details independently — a phone call, a second reference, or a quick search goes a long way.
- Be cautious about sharing sensitive personal or financial information before you've established trust.
- Agree on scope, pricing, and terms in writing before starting any off-platform work.
- Meet in a public or otherwise safe location for any in-person introduction.
Reporting a problem
If a profile, message, or review looks suspicious, dishonest, or abusive, use the report feature on that profile or review. Our platform team reviews reports and can hide content or suspend an account or profile where warranted — see our Terms for how that process works.
If you're ever in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first — Match My Crew's report tool is for platform safety issues, not emergencies.
